FAQ - Frequently Asked Questions

We are here to help you. Whatever question you have, any problem you encounter, let us help you.

Q. What is a "subscription"?
A. On our website, a course subscription simply means that your ONE-TIME payment for the workshop/training will give you a full year of access to the course so that you may complete the training at your own pace. You will NOT be charged again. There are NO monthly charges or auto renewals.
Q. How secure is the registration and payment?
A. Your registration information will not be shared with a third party. Your payment information is securely processed by the credit card company and not kept in our records. Your receipt will be automatically emailed directly to you. The NYSED requires your First and Last name on our account registration page. The NYSED does not require middle name/initial.
Q. How many hours do I need to complete for my licensure?
A. Licensing boards have individual requirements. Ensure your compliance by checking directly with the licensing agency of your profession.
Q. Do I need to complete the course in one session?
A. No. You may log off and on anytime. The timer feature maintains time spent on the course and where you left off. Take as long as you need to complete the course.
Q. Is there a test?
A. Yes. Multiple choice quizzes. To enhance the user experience there is a review quiz after each topic section and a final quiz at the end of the course.
Q. How do I receive and submit my proof of completion?
A. Upon completion of the course there are 2 convenient options to receive your official certificate of completion: 1) You may print it, 2) Have it emailed to you. You will also see an option to submit to the NYSED (OTI/TEACH) electronically, which is a state requirement for training such as the Violence, Child Abuse, DASA, and the Autism workshop.
For all NON-education professionals, such as NY healthcare professionals, for the Child Abuse workshop only electronically submit to the NY Office of Professions (NYOOP), and not to the NYSED OTI/TEACH (Office of Teaching Initiatives).
The NYSED OTI does not want you to submit your printed certificate of completion to them - although the NYOOP still accepts certificates for healthcare professionals. There is no requirement to submit Infection Control to the NYSED. Simply maintain a copy of your Infection Control certificate in the event the NYSED NYOOP requests proof of completion.
Q. Am I able to acquire additional copies of my certificate of completion?
A. Yes, by logging back in. A permanent record of completion is maintained. Please note that other providers may charge additional fees for copies of completion certificates.
Q. Does the NYSED (NY State) need a SSN (Social Security Number)?
A. The New York State Education Department requires that all applicants for professional licensure provide their Federal Social Security Number (SSN).
- For NY non-education professionals (e.g. healthcare professionals) without a SSN, the New York Office of Professions (NYOOP) requires an assigned random, computer generated nine-digit identifier.
More information is available on the New York Office of Professions website (see section on Social Security Numbers):
www.op.nysed.gov/about/general-information-policies
- For NY education professionals (e.g. teachers, etc.) without a SSN, they would have used a Teach Access Number (TAN) on their TEACH account.
Instructions to apply for a TAN on TEACH can be found on the below webpage.
